Dear Parishioners and friends!
First and foremost welcome back!
This weekend we are on track to begin our weekend schedule in two of our three churches. Due to the need implement Social distancing the church of St John Vianney’s will remain closed. This is for everyone’s safety and comfort, I’m sure you will appreciate and understand this course of action. Once government and Diocesan regulations have been lifted St John Vianney’s will reopen.
So what do we do next?
Saturday Night vigil mass at 6pm will be at St Peter’s Church.
Sunday Morning Masses are at the usual times.
St Peter’s at 9am
The Priory at 10:30am.
Baptisms are now being rescheduled for all those who missed out on dates previously booked. Please speak to a priest!
Track and Trace!
When you attend a mass please sign in! This can be speeded up by bringing with you a small piece of paper with the following information on:
Name of person(s) attending…
Email address or home address or phone number. Just one per family!
The date of your visit.
Place this paper into the basket and then hand sanitize and then go to your seat. If you forget, a sheet will be available in the porch. It would be a great help if people could bring this information with them completed.
Please note! Face coverings MUST be worn once in church.
Once in church, please follow the advice from the stewards. If you have any concerns please ask a steward.
You will be directed out of your bench for Holy Communion. Please be patient.
The collection will be taken as you leave church.
Due to restrictions we will not be using Holy Water, mass sheets or booklets, offertory processions, singing, sign of peace. Holy Communion will be received in silence lining up by the communion rails or bottom step, as directed by a steward. There will be no newsletter for the time being.
On leaving the church, please use the hand sanitizer.
This may appear harsh! It may be a lot to ask of you. It is for your safety, your health and protection. It also ensures we follow the required protocols.
The upside is that the sermon has got to be short!!
I hope this helps, a community that prays together will stay together!
I look forward to welcoming you all back in September.
With love and prayers
Fr Shaun K Braiden
