Fr Shaun’s anniversary of Ordination

Fr Shaun was ordained on 29th June 1996 and celebrated his Silver Jubilee with a mass of Thanksgiving on July 3rd. He was presented with Gifts from the parish including a papal blessing . The mass was followed by celebrations at the football field. Fr Shaun sent a message of thanks to all involved in organising the events and collections which was included in the newsletter.
The mass was concelebrated with His eminence Michael Louis Cardinal Fitzgerald presiding. He wrote that he on 29th June 1996 had the privilege of ordaining Shaun as a priest. He had served as a deacon in St Joseph’s Reddish where the cardinal’s sister was a parishioner. He gave thanks to God for Shaun’s ministry praying that it may continue for many years more. richly blessed by the God of Infinite Goodness.
other priests present included Fr James from Edinburgh who gave the homily a reflection on Priesthood using a letter of St John Paul 2nd. Canon Kenny and Canon McBride were there. Luke Bradbury helped with the liturgical part of the celebrations and Lynda Corban worked hard to organise other parts of the celebration including the collection for Fr Shaun and the buffet at the football club.
